Donna Neimeister has been faithfully serving in Uganda since 2022, following God’s call to make Uganda her home and ministry. After participating in numerous short-term mission trips to Africa, Donna felt God leading her to serve more permanently in a rural village about an hour from Kampala. What began with caring for elderly women, affectionately known as Jajas, and serving children in a local school has grown into a ministry of discipleship, encouragement, and practical support for the surrounding community.

In 2025, through God’s provision and the hard work of local Ugandans, Donna opened the Olugendo Community Center (OCC), a place of hope, learning, discipleship, and opportunity. Olugendo means “journey,” reflecting Donna’s desire to walk alongside people as they discover hope, purpose, and new opportunities. The Center offers life-skills training, discipleship, English classes, sustainable farming education, vocational and business training, small groups, and community outreach. These programs are designed to equip individuals and families with practical tools to grow in faith, develop skills, and become more self-sustaining.

The OCC also provides opportunities for employment, mentorship, meaningful relationships, medical and dental clinics, and community gatherings. Donna welcomes short-term mission teams to partner with her in serving the village and surrounding communities. As the ministry continues to grow, her vision is to expand opportunities for youth and families and create an even greater place of connection and opportunity.
